Self Care Sunday’s Vol. 1

Self Care Sunday’s Vol. 1

If you look up post regarding self care you'll see stuff like eat chocolate, paint, or read a book. A bunch of cute shit, but sitting around eating chocolate isn't going to help your mental health if you haven't showered in three days.

We've all had moments where we just didn't want to deal with life for whatever reason, and that's perfectly okay. I can attest that once you get into that state, it's very difficult to get out of it. That's where SELF CARE comes in, but what exactly is self care? By definition selfcare is any necessary human regulatory function which is under individual control, deliberate and self-initiated.

So here are some things that help me when I'm stuck in a rut:

1. Take a long shower. Take so long in the shower that the hot water runs out. Even if majority of your time in the shower is you just standing under the water. Imagine you're washing away the negative energy, thoroughly clean and then moisturize your body. wash your face, brush your teeth, comb your hair.

2. Nourish your body. When was the last time you ate, drank water? A healthy body thrives on vitamins and protein. So make yourself something to eat, even if it's just a PB&J.

3. Clean. "If I can't get out of the bed, what makes you think I want to clean". I know, but trust me it helps. Open the blinds, and put some music on. Clean your room, change your sheets, sort and do your laundry. A cluttered space, is a cluttered mind. Clear the clutter and feel at peace.

4. Get some fresh air. Going outside for even just a few minutes will give you a sense of accomplishment. "I got out of bed today", you can use that motivation towards completing other things you need to get done.

Eating chocolate is great and all, but it'll only make you feel worse if that's all you did that day. Clean yourself up, clean your environment up, then indulge a little. Remember to take care of the little things, tackle life one thing at a time.
