Insecurities will kill you if you let it. From a young age, I've always been very self conscious. I remember trying to "fit in", always seeking approval. Up until middle school I was the tallest female in my classes, and "stick skinny" which made it hard to blend in.
Entering middle school I realized how brutally honest and mean kids were. I was teased about my hair, my weight, my clothing and shoes. Basically everything. I would stay to myself, which resulted in minimum friends but I was okay with it.
It wasn't until I entered highschool that I started to be comfortable with myself and I grew to love the skin I'm in. Although I was born and raised in New York City, I found myself in South Carolina and because of that I call it home. Instead of hiding my face, I began trying new things that made me stand out such as makeup.
The art of makeup is so beautiful. The uses of it range from lightly enhancing your already beautiful features to completely transforming yourself. The many eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushes, glosses, lashes, and we can't forget the GLO. There’s no limit to how creative you can be with makeup. BUT I also learned that you cannot have good makeup without good skin. That's an area I struggled with as well. Which is why I'd love to share my creative looks, as well as my skincare journey with you with this blog.
No matter how YOU may feel about you, always be radiant, be true and most importantly BE YOU!
